Our Approach
Working with an interior designer is exciting. Your vision coming to life. The process always moves progressively through 5 stages. Each stage of the process involves a set of documentation deliverables which represent key project milestones. Whether the project is big or small, residential, commercial or retail, the DESIGN PROCESS always applies
STAGE 1 – Concept Design & Schematic planning
STAGE 2 – Design Development
STAGE 3 – Pricing Documentation
STAGE 4 – Construction Documentation
STAGE 5 – Project Management
The design concept is more developed and drawn from the approved preliminary concepts presented in Phase 1. Documents are prepared which include initial space and furniture plans, lighting concepts, and concepts for colours, materials and finishes, and the selection of specific furnishings – in 2D.
The next step is to refine and revise. Once the Owner selects a design direction, HUDU Studio adds detail and incorporates requested changes. These are then reviewed by Client. The Design Development phase includes the following steps:

Once the basic design is developed and approved, preliminary pricing may be obtained from professional contractors. During this phase, HUDU Studio produces drawings, assists in contractor selection, distributes drawings, and receives estimates. Pricing drawings include:
Once preliminary pricing is received, the Owner may wish to adjust the project scope to satisfy budget and time constraints. Changes are incorporated and the final design is detailed. HUDU Studio will develop construction documents. Atelier Lane will decide which drawings are necessary for construction. These may include:
HUDU Studio will oversee the construction phase. We work closely with our construction partners to ensure the design comes to life. And any issues that may arise, can be sorted out quickly. During this stage, if commissioned, we will be designing custom furniture, purchasing and overseeing the deliveries to ensure that once construction has completed, all furniture arrives on time and then we get to work, styling your home to make it ready for your return.
Our involvement continues even after the installation as we always work to accommodate our clients and their ongoing needs.
